Jacob Michaels…er, Robert Wagner…is tired. Hollywood has been kind. But it’s also left him skinny, exhausted, unsure of who he is, whom he wants to be…and without love. A decade earlier, he ran away from home to pursue fame. Unlike many before him, he actually succeeded. Now he’s back in his hometown of Point Worth, trying to make amends with his grandmother, trying to regain his health, trying to not be recognized, and trying to figure out who he really is. Maybe he’ll find love along the way…if people and things weren’t so…weird.
Jacob Michaels, er, Robert Wagner (Rob), came home to Point Worth, Ohio because he was tired, underweight, and possibly done with Hollywood for good. His Oma was set to take care of him. She set him up on a date with a new guy, introduced him to a new friend…and then things went completely wrong. Werewolves are real, friends might be more than friends, and everything about his Oma and her house may not be as they appear on the surface. Of course, Rob now has to worry about strange dreams and an eerie green light beckoning him towards the cellar in his Oma’s house. To top it all off, there’s still a strange creature crawling into bed with Rob each night–even when he’s not alone…
Jacob Michaels…er…Rob Wagner lays in the muck at the edge of the woods, heart in his throat, breath coming in gasps, whispers filling his ears. A wolf howl sounds in the distance. Running for his life, Rob does everything he can to escape the visions and whispers…but some creatures are faster. By the time morning comes, a person will be dead and Rob will be unsure of whether or not he is responsible.
With the help of Lucas, Rob has to quickly find out what exactly is going on–if they could just keep their hands off of each other. There is also the nagging feeling that Rob and Lucas can’t trust their memories. Nor are they sure that they actually remember everything as it has happened. Things get even more complicated when Sheriff Dennard lets on that he knows who Rob really is. Throw a werewolf pack and its Alpha into the mix, a horde of paparazzi, Kobolds who can’t decide who they are loyal to, and odd flashes of memories and dreams, and Rob can’t help but want to give up.
Most importantly…what is down in the cellar? If Rob figures that out…can life ever be the same? Or will everything start to get back to normal?
Rob Wagner remembers everything. Even things that haven’t happened yet. Things that might never happen. Things that are possible, things that are probable, and things that are possibly inevitable. Nothing is set in stone yet–and the future balances on the edge of a knife. However, one thing is for certain…Rob is no longer Jacob Michaels.
When Rob remembers his past, more than a decade of his life lost for a specific purpose, he now has to face his Oma, learn how to be Rob Wagner again, and figure out if saying anything about it will put the love of his life in more danger. However, his biggest problem isn’t the fact that he now has his memories back. An oracle with vague advice, a book that drinks blood, a pack of werewolves, and a figure in a long, black, hooded cloak foretell a potentially dystopian future.
How’s a guy supposed to live a quiet life away from Hollywood, take in a bawdy drag show, and have lots of great sex with a man he loves deeply if forces of evil keep getting in his way?
Everywhere Jacob Michaels goes, trouble follows. Trouble was the reason he ran away from home at sixteen-years-old to go to Hollywood. Trouble was the reason he ran away from Hollywood to come back home to Point Worth, Ohio. Creating trouble everywhere he goes is why he is now standing in the Maumee River next to his bleeding boyfriend while bathed in light.
How much trouble can Jacob Michaels…er, Rob Wagner…get into over the course of a day? There will be magic, visions, a gaudy Hollywood manager, tiny household creatures, witches, disposing of dead bodies, werewolves, kidnapping, murder…and flipped chickens. But by the end of the day, lines will be drawn and it will be a race for Rob to get away from it all.
Or is it too late for running away to be the answer to all of his trouble?
The ground is shaking and cracking under Point Worth, Ohio. A pack of werewolves, an old woman, and a drag queen meet in the parking lot of the high school football stadium.
Two men speed away from Point Worth, desperate to put the town behind them.
Jacob Michaels…er, Rob Wagner…is done. He is leaving his hometown for a final time with the love of his life, Lucas. They plan to take the first plane out of Ohio with Los Angeles as their final destination, and never look back.
Things are never that simple. And one day is as good as any for an apocalypse.
For Rob and Lucas, running away was never an option. Since before a time they even knew, events have been unfurling that will shape their destinies forever. What’s real? Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? What has Rob been running from since he was a child? What has happened in Lucas’ past that has made his present collide with Rob’s? Why is Rob having visions and hearing voices more than ever?
One thing is inevitable. In the end…Jacob Michaels will be dead.
No matter what happens, some stories never die…

Jacob Michaels, er, Rob Wagner is returning to his hometown of Point Worth, Ohio after a decade of living and working as an A-list celebrity in Hollywood. He’s washed up, tired, and in need of the kind of love and care only a grandmother can provide.
Esther Jean Wagner, his Oma, is where she always is—working at the bar she owns, The Red Rooster Tavern. When Rob shows up in the middle of an evening shift, the bar is packed full of Point Worth citizens. Music is playing, sports are on the T.V., and “drunk and disorderly” doesn’t even begin to describe the atmosphere.
Just like old times…kind of.
Things are just as Rob remembers. However, within minutes of his arrival at The Red Rooster Tavern and greeting his Oma, all hell breaks loose. Council agents burst in to get the “situation” under control, and Jacob comes face to face with a long-lost love.
Clearly, it really is like old times.
In the days that follow, Rob hides away at his Oma’s house and tries to relax, but the discovery of a body at The Red Rooster Tavern throws the town of Point Worth into a craze.
