Jackson “Jacks” Harper – Owner of Head Rock Harbor Books, amateur sleuth, cross-stitcher, reader, and put-upon cat owner.
Rattlesnatches – Official Bookstore Cat™ of Head Rock Harbor Books. Feisty Abyssinian who loves a good nap, food, and walks on his leash around Head Rock Harbor.
Jeremy “Germ” Morris – Detective at Head Rock Harbor and Town Playboy. Jackson Harper’s best friend.
Deborah “Deb” Harper – Owner of Harper’s Bar, Grill, Bait & Tackle and Harper’s Trailer Park. Jackson Harper’s mother.
Marvin “Marv” Bucksworth – Chief of police in Head Rock Harbor. Father of Ainsley Bucksworth, owner of The Loft on Harbor Street.
Shirley Templeton – Waitress at Munchies on Harbor Street and daughter of Lardell Simmons.
Lardell Simmons – Owner and cook of Munchies on Harbor Street. Father of Shirley Templeton.
Mavis Attberry – Resident of Harper’s Trailer Park, (most prolific) town drunk, and proud shotgun enthusiast and “tomato” grower.
Linda Wagner – Mayor of Head Rock Harbor. Constantly on a mission to improve tourism in the little town.
Mark Wagner – Husband of Linda Wanger.
Sawyer Robison – Handsome handyman and all-around jack-of-all-trades of Head Rock Harbor. Science Fiction nerd.
Beau Robison – Cook at Harper’s Bar, Grill, Bait & Tackle. Brother of Sawyer Robinson.
Charlene Hardy – Owner of Charlene’s Chocolates. President of the Harbor Street Business Owners’ Association.
Bernie Musker – Owner and bartender of Bernie’s Tavern.
Deacon Davis – Forensic Tech for Head Rock Harbor Police Department.
Angel Gomez – The new barista at Head Rock Harbor Books Coffee Bar.

Prescott Pemberton – Local painter who moved to New York, became rich and famous, moved back to Head Rock Harbor for medical reasons, and was later found naked and dead in the harbor.
Marshelle Martin – Assistant to the famous (and dead) painter, Prescott Pemberton.
Carter Nelson – A former resident of Head Rock Harbor who was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound to the chest at a campsite in Wilford Woods by Jackson “Jacks” Harper and Sawyer Robinson. Father of Colton Nelson. Brother of Myrna Nelson. Uncle to Kenny, Hunter, and Mason Nelson.
Colton Nelson – Son of Carter Nelson.
Myrna Nelson – Sister of Carter Nelson.
Kenny Nelson – The oldest son of Myrna Nelson and cousin to Colton Nelson.
Hunter Nelson – The middle child of Myrna Nelson and cousin to Colton Nelson.
Mason Nelson – The youngest son of Myrna Nelson and cousin to Colton Nelson.
The Locations
Head Rock Harbor Books – Located at 1719 Harbor Street, a quaint little bookstore owned by Jackson “Jacks” Harper. Jackson lives in the small efficiency apartment upstairs with his cat, Rattlesnatches.
Head Rock Harbor Books Coffee Bar – Located inside Head Rock Harbor Books. Natch. The best coffee bar in all of downtown Head Rock Harbor!
Munchies Cafe – Small diner owned by Lardell Simmons. One of Jackson “Jacks” Harper’s favorite places to eat lunch. Known for their pork tenderloins. Shirley Templeton, Lardell’s daughter, is the waitress and cashier.
Harper’s Bar, Grill, Bait & Tackle – Bar and grill owned by Jackson “Jacks” Harper’s mother, Deborah “Deb” Harper. Known for slightly rowdy crowds, good Midwestern food, drinking, dancing, and a known pick-up spot.
Harper’s Trailer Park – The trailer park behind Harper’s Bar, Grill, Bait & Tackle. Owned by Deborah “Deb” Harper and home to Mavis Attberry and other rough citizens of Head Rock Harbor.
The Harbor – The boat docking area on the northeast side of town. The place where Prescott Pemberton’s naked corpse was found.
Bernie’s Tavern – If Harper’s isn’t rough enough for you, you can always go to the dimly lit shady pub owned by Bernie.
The Dock – Upscale eating on the Mississippi River with great views.
Head Rock Harbor Police Department (HRH PD) – Pet shop.
The Bluff – The cliff-like geographical feature on the north side of Head Rock Harbor where you’ll find many upscale homes overlooking the town below.
Wilford Woods – The woods to the south of Head Rock Harbor with hiking trails and camping and fishing sites. The site where Carter Nelson’s body was found.
Harbor Stage – Formerly known as The Downtown Theater, Harbor Stage is a live entertainment venue owned by Randall and Michael Cummings. Coming soon!
