It’s been a minute since we’ve all had a chat, hasn’t it? My apologies for delays in updating you all on what is happening with Chase Connor Books, but life sometimes gets in the way. I’m sure none of you have ever been inconvenienced or distracted by life, so this seems so silly, right? Regardless, while nothing awful has happened–everything is quite good, actually–I’ve simply had too many commitments and unexpected events pop up. Sitting down to write each day has barely been achievable, so writing a blog post and a newsletter seemed impossible. Everything nonessential got pushed aside for a few weeks. Sometimes, it’s best to take care of yourself and come back to other, less important, things later. Of course, keeping up with all of you is important to me, but some things rank higher whether I like it or not. However, now that we’re all gathered here, I’ve got Head Rock Harbor news, more information about my new paranormal mystery series, some other Chase Connor Books sneaks and peeks, a blog post, and some book recommendations. Let’s get to it!

All three books in the Head Rock Harbor Mystery series are now available in audiobook format! Nick Trengove has narrated these first three books and has done an outstanding job! I couldn’t be happier with the results. I hope all of my audiobook lovers are enjoying them as well. In case you’re wondering, Nick has expressed his desire to stay on as narrator through the 8 series arc that is currently planned–so everything’s comin’ up roses! I can’t wait to get each of the next five installments released and out into the world for you all to devour with your eyes and ears. But patience…always patience. Speaking of the next installments…

BANG BANG HE SHOT HER DOWN – the fourth book in the Head Rock Harbor Mystery series is coming later in 2025! The exact release date is still up in the air, however, you can read more about the book by clicking on the image to your left or the title above. More information to come soon!

Blogging is something I gave up a while back due to time constraints and wanting to focus on more important things. I mentioned before that my blogging days were over. However, you should all know that anytime I speak in absolutes, I’m full of shit. While I don’t plan to return to blogging full time, I do miss writing blog posts from time to time. So, in the future, I plan to blog as time allows–and when I feel compelled by a subject–for everyone’s reading entertainment. Today, I dropped a blog post about why authors should stay out of readers’ spaces, and why readers should learn some decorum when it comes to sharing their thoughts with authors. Let’s all learn to get along! Check it out:

In the last Chase Connor Books News (Issue 10), I teased a new series coming. I’m not going to show my entire hand today, but I wanted to share the title, series title, and cover with you all. To give a little taste – this series revolves around a regionally (in)famous touch psyhic and medium, Silas Erie, and the ghosts only he can see and communicate with. More is to come, but I’m hoping we’ll have a 2025 release date–early 2026 at the very latest! Either way, GHOST IN THE CUPBOARD – SILAS ERIE PARANORMAL COZY #1 will be out before you know it! I’m so excited to share Silas and his adventures with you all! Look for a page for the series to pop up in the future on Chase Connor Books and a ton of more information about the first in the series.

To be honest, I’ve mostly been listening to books I’ve read before. I’ve re-read the Hunger Games series, and have started on the Percy Jackson series, but there have been a couple others that I’ve enjoyed recently and would like to recommend to all of you. Here we go…

SWAMP SPOOK (A MISS FORTUNE MYSTERY) by Jana Deleon is the 13th book in the series. I accidentally skipped #12–and I’ll be getting to it soon–but the further adventures of the former CIA spy, Fortune Redding, are still delightful. I can’t recommend this series enough for mystery and cozy lovers!
HARRIET TUBMAN: LIVE IN CONCERT by Bob the Drag Queen is a difficult book to review. Important and poignant in a way, it still lacks something that keeps it from being a five star read. In fact, I gave it three on Goodreads. The narration is a bit difficult–though I love hearing Bob read the book–because his diction and enunciation aren’t as good as a narrator’s should be. The story could also do with more fleshing out, since it’s such a huge concept that isn’t fully explored (or fully explained). However, if you love Bob the Drag Queen, and you want to learn more about Harriet Tubman, check this one out!

Were you aware that every book in my catalog is now back on Kindle Unlimited? If I’ve written it, it’s a book that’s included with Kindle Unlimited. If you have a subscription, you can read any of my books for no additional cost! All I ask is that you leave a review like you would with a book you purchased and read. Throw ya’ boy a bone!

Until next time, make sure you’re following me everywhere you can for all the latest Chase Connor Books news and nonsense!
