Happy March, everyone! You may not have noticed, but after the release of PRIDE AND PUNCTURE (HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY #3), I decided to let the room breathe a bit. As y’all did with MURDER IN THE ROUGH (HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY #2), the third installment was also snatched up at a rate that made this author incredibly proud. We didn’t quite hit the #1 spot again, but we got awfully close at #3–which is surprising since there were 3 times as many pre-orders and 4 times as many first day sales than book 2! When I see numbers like that, I honestly can’t care about the position on the charts. My readers always make me happy!
Because of the numbers and the pages being read through the Kindle Unlimited program, I realized that there was enough Chase Connor Books business going on out there that I didn’t need to overwhelm any of you with more information, gossip, or CCB-branded nonsense. You’re welcome!
However, an entire month has passed since my PRIDE AND PUNCTURE (HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY #3) dropped, and I feel it’s time to catch you up with what’s going on in CCB world.

As we’ve done with the first two books in the HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY series, PRIDE AND PUNCTURE (HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY #3) is getting the audiobook treatment! Nick Trengove will be back as the narrator (absolutely adore his interpretations of my work), and we’re set for a mid- to late- April release! Keep your eyes peeled for that!
As many of you already know, the fourth book in the HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY series is titled BANG BANG HE SHOT HER DOWN (HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY #4). I’ve even posted a cover reveal on the website and on socials. However, the cover is getting an upgrade (and the book itself is being worked on heavily to be released as soon as possible!) and I wanted to share the new cover with you here:
So, obviously my mind and typing fingers are always on the HEAD ROCK HARBOR MYSTERY series…but I’m hard at work on other projects as well. Currently, I’m revamping my urban paranormal series – THATCHER GRAVES – changing it from a more young adult/new adult novel to more adult. I hope to have more news for you soon about the first book in the series!
I’m also working on a project titled THE LAST OF THE LIGHTNING BUGS. I can’t really say much about it other than it was inspired a bit by FRIED GREEN TOMATOES AT THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE and is a mix between the “feel” of A SURPLUS OF LIGHT and POSSIBLY TEXAS, maybe? More to come on this in the future, too! As an aside, I’ve used writing stories as a way to deal with grief and to pay homage to people I love who have passed. This one is for my father.
